What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is one of the most commonly practiced forms of medicine in the world and is used by approximately 2.5 billion people as a primary healthcare system. It originated in China over 4,000 years ago and is a safe, effective and painless method for supporting our body’s natural healing process. This is achieved by inserting thin, sterilized, single-use disposable needles in specific points on the body.
Physical, mental and emotional symptoms are the result of blocked energy (qi) in our body. By placing sterile, hair-thin,

How does acupuncture work?
Eastern Medicine philosophy explains acupuncture using the Chinese Medical Theory that energy (Qi) flows through our body and can become blocked or out of balance creating a variety of physical, mental and emotional symptoms. While acupuncture is often used for pain-related conditions, many people also receive treatments as a preventative medicine seeing their acupuncturist at least once a month for a “tune-up” or “balancing” treatment.

What should you expect during your acupuncture appointment?

How does it feel?

How should you care for yourself before and after your appointment?

I have noticed a genuine overall improvement in my stomach pain and also my general well being, stress levels, and overall happiness. I have learned to get more sleep and take time for myself. These treatments have changed my life in a way I never thought possible.
I came to Rebecca to help manage the pain from sciatica. I kept coming because Rebecca helps me manage the challenges of modern life by understanding the interaction between physical and emotional issues and supporting me wherever I am on the day. I always leave feeling better, stronger and more equipped to handle whatever is coming next.
Rebecca cares deeply about her discipline. She listens intently to me and offers kind and intelligent reflections in response. She always leads with curiosity and offers genuine support. The emotional and physical effects of acupuncture have been incredibly beneficial to me.
She has been instrumental in my emotional and physical journey of self-awareness and well-being. She really listens as I share what losses, triumphs, and challenges have occurred since our last session. She digs deeper for her own clarification and to get me thinking. She knows exactly what meridian points to unblock the negative energy or pain that helps me move through and heal much quicker.
Through acupuncture, Rebecca was able to help me eliminate all pain in my left shoulder. My sleep improved from 3-4 hours a night to 7-8 hours a night. Committing to acupuncture as a means of pain relief, and reducing anxiety has been a remarkable experience for me. It is contributing to my overall well being. Rebecca does this with compassion, concern, and courtesy.
I started seeing Rebecca after a childhood friend recommended acupuncture as a tool to managing my ongoing headaches, back and hip pain and stress. I was open to the idea that the treatments might help but otherwise unsure what to expect. Rebecca immediately made me feel at ease as we discussed my symptoms and she explained how acupuncture could help relieve them. Her professionalism is matched by her knowledge and empathy, when I leave a session I always feel better, calmer and stronger. Since my first visit a few months ago, I am experiencing less pain, fewer headaches
